The Outreach Partnership Program is a nationwide initiative of the NIMH with support from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Program partners with national and state organizations to strengthen the public health impact of research by disseminating the latest scientific findings; informing the public about mental disorders, alcoholism, and drug addiction; and reducing the associated stigma and discrimination.

Nations Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA)
NIDA's mission is to lead the Nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. This charge has two critical components. The first is the strategic support and conduct of research across a broad range of disciplines. The second is ensuring the rapid and effective dissemination and use of the results of that research to significantly improve prevention, treatment and policy as it relates to drug abuse and addiction.

Louisiana Mental Health Planning Council

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)
DBSA is the leading patient-directed national organization focusing on the
most prevalent mental illnesses. The organization fosters an environment
of understanding about the impact and management of these life-threatening
illnesses by providing up-to-date, scientifically-based tools and information
written in language the general public can understand. DBSA supports research
to promote more timely diagnosis, develop more effective and tolerable treatments
and discover a cure. The organization works to ensure that people living with
mood disorders are treated equitably.

and toll-free suicide prevention service available to all those in suicidal
crisis who are seeking help. Individuals seeking help can dial
